The Goddess of Power, Protection and Victory
Maa Baglamukhi is considered the eighth of the ten Mahavidyas. She is said to be the goddess of destruction of enemies, taming of speech, and victory. A devotee seeking justice, victory, and security should worship Mother Baglamukhi.
The Ten Mahavidyas include Kali, Tara, Tripura Sundari, Bhuvaneshwari, Chhinnamasta, Bhairavi, Dhumavati, Baglamukhi, Matangi, and Kamala. Among them, Maa Baglamukhi is known as the Goddess of Stambhana Power (the power to immobilize or stop negative forces). According to Hindu scriptures, the Ten Mahavidyas are the ten divine forms of Adi Shakti, representing different cosmic energies and aspects of creation. Each Mahavidya has its own unique significance, spiritual path, and purpose. Maa Baglamukhi holds the eighth position among the Ten Mahavidyas and is especially worshipped for protection from enemies and control over harmful speech and negativity. Her Stambhana Shakti not only symbolizes stopping enemies but also overcoming negative energies, injustice, and adverse situations. From a spiritual perspective, Maa Baglamukhi grants self-control, patience, and mental stability. Her worship empowers devotees from within and helps them achieve success even in difficult circumstances.
Maa Baglamukhi is depicted wearing yellow garments and riding a lion. She is often shown holding the tongue of an enemy while immobilizing them. This symbolizes the destruction of evil, injustice, and negative forces.
